LEMONGRASS - 100% Pure Plant, Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil 

Botanical Name: Cymbopogon flexuosus 

Parts Used: leaves (grass)

Scent Characteristics: citrus, herbaceous, and smoky

History: Lemongrass has long been used in traditional Asian medicine and in cooking, as well as skin care products and perfumes. In India, they would use the grasses for fevers and for digestive issues. They would also apply the oil to get rid of ringworm.  In Thailand it is a popular flavoring for food. In Latin America, the grass is made into a tea to be used for a wide variety of issues including joint aches, respiratory infections, stomach issues, and headaches. The leaves would be chewed for toothache and the sap would be made into a compress for eye infections.
